Remember: The laws of Quicksand MUST be read before beginning the game, also, members should obey these rules throughout play and out of character!
Members, please read the plot before play! It is pointless to create a character without knowing what's going on. So please take the time, it isn't all that bad to read.
General Rules
1. Respect the staff, no excuses.
2. Respect other members. No fighting out of character, save it for in character!
3. Yes, you may curse if you feel the need. As long as it's not directed at anybody out of character. Just remember though, this is a medieval game, and I don't think a vampire would say "Oh f**k, you hit me!"...just try to keep it realistic.
4. Don't send advertisements in Pm's to anybody! It's just annoying and I doubt it's effective, most people ignore them. There's a reason that there's an advertising board on this site. Use it instead. If you are caught doing this you will only be given ONE warning!
5. Try to keep signature picture size reasonable. I'm not giving out restrictions but remember that some computers don't load big pictures very well.
6. If you're going to be away for along time, post it in the absence board! If you are away longer than 10 days without notifying someone, your account WILL be deleted.
Rules of Joining
1. You must have read both the rules and plot to begin play! No excuse! Otherwise, you will be lost.
2. You obviously have to register to ProBoards to join this game. So obey their terms and conditions too!
3. Be realistic. This RPG is set during the Medieval Era. There are no guns or televisions, cars or jeans!
4. You can have as many characters as you like, as long as they are on separate accounts and kept active.
5. Please wait for a staff member to accept you before you begin role playing.
6. No murdering another member’s character without their permission! If you are caught doing this your character will be deleted without question.
7. No anime pictures, they are too unrealistic.
In Character Rules
1. You must be at least 15 to join! Please be honest!
2. No power playing or godmoding on this site, period. You cannot kill another members character or severely injure them without their permission. The penalty if you are caught doing this is banishment! (You will be deleted.)
3. No one sentence posts! They must be at least four lines long. Out of Character is different, but in character you must put some effort in!
4. No posts with just out of character in a role play board. It's ok if you are posting and talking OOC at the same time, but if you post only OOC in a role playing board it's a waste of space.
5. Since this site is rated R, it allows for violence and for your character to go that 'extra mile'. Remember though, vampires can't reproduce! Note, if your character is going to be intimate with another character, post something like xxx in the title, or else your character will be deleted. And please don't begin playing with these types of posts.
6. Have fun! I know the rules seem daunting but once you get the hang of things I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.
Spelling and punctuation
1. I will not accept posts that are less that four lines in length in character (unless specified otherwise) the posts are just too short. Try and write about the setting, (sights/smells/sounds/colors) or what you character is thinking or feeling at the time of the post.
2. I will not accept shortcut language in character. For example, '4' instead of 'for' is unacceptable. Out of character is ok, but in character keep the spelling correct!
3. Watch your punctuation. Be sure to add quotation marks (" and "), commas, and full stops.
4. Try to keep the spelling at the best possible standard. There is a spell check feature that comes standard with ProBoards, so please use it if you believe you have misspellings.
5. Keep the in character language relevant. It's Medieval times, it's more likely for your character to say "Good evening" than "How ya going?"
Rules for Vampires
The following rules are directed toward vampires, but we ask that everyone reads them.
1. Vampires cannot be out in the sunlight. They will turn to ash and die.
2. Vampires cannot reproduce.
3. All vampires were human at one point. You cannot be born a vampire.
4. Stakes, crosses, garlic or any other home remedies do not work on vampires!
5. Vampires do not eat. They survive off the blood they drain from humans, and do not enjoy food.
6. Vampires do not have to be of a certain personality type. They aren't all blood lusting monsters, some are kind and caring. Your character may be have sort of personality, as long as it's realistic, so have fun with it.
