Tino's eyes were slightly glazed as she hadn't slept in quite a while. Outside, dawn was striking the blue sky and painting it a beautiful pinkish orange. Two small creatures scurried past Tino and a large owl followed slowly behind her, watching her intently, making sure she was okay. "It's nice and dark in here... That's good." Tino said to no one in particular. DreamScanner cooed lowly, as though to say 'Yes' to her, while the other two just paused and glanced at her, before running around and chasing eachother. Tino giggled softly.

The cold, dank caves were one place in Nullius that I had not ventured to often. There seemed to be something about them...something mysterious. On this day I had braced myself and decided that I needed to explore their mystery...It called to me. I had ridden to the entrance on my black stallion, Obsidian. Upon reaching the large opening, I leaped off of Obsidan and tied his reins to a nearby tree. The tree stood high above me, it's bare branches reaching toward the heaven in some kind of plea...maybe for life.
I headed inside the cave and was instantly startled. There stood a new member of our coven...one of the new maidens whom I had yet to meet. I retained my poise and continued forth, not slowing my pace until I was face to face with the vampiress. I extended my left hand, gesturing that a handshake was appropriate. My eyes began to evaluate what kind of personality was held within the stranger, as I parted my lips to speak.
"Greetings. I am Lestat, Lord of Ventana. I have noticed you in the castle before...correct me if I'm wrong, but you are our new maiden, yes? It's a pleasure to meet you...your name is...?"

Red eyes watched the other vampiress from the darkness, farther back. She recognized her, but only vaguely. Several moments passed before she decided this woman was in the ally group. Ariah stayed where she was calmly. She cleared her throat and said, “Dark yes, but not necessarily safe.” She stepped forward then, grinning slightly, “Might want to come farther back in. The sun touches about the place where you currently are.”
Lestat entered the cave about that time and another smile broke over her face, though this time it was amused. “Greetings, Lestat. It seems we had the same idea.” She turned her head slightly, to gaze farther back down the caves once again. She paused a moment then said, “Though, perhaps for different reasons.”
She waited for the maiden’s response to Lestat before saying, “A pleasure to meet you, miss. My name is Ariah and I do apologize if you feel like I’ve intruded, same to you, Lestat. Of course, if this is the case, I’ll simply wander back down into the darkness and wait for you to wander after or out.” A small chuckle escaped her as she leaned back against the wall, waiting.

Tino looked first at Ariah, then Lestat, before stepping forward, her eyes still flicking back and forth, implying her slight suspicion as of whether or not she could trust the two. With a bit of a jerk, she put her arm out, her owl landing tentivally on her lower arm. Nodding, she replied to Lestat's question. "Yes, I am Lady Tino... Pleasure to meet you, Sir Lestat and Madam Ariah.." She edged back a bit again, but it wasn't entirely obvious. Tatsh slunk up beside her and stared dangerously at the two, until Tino laid a hand on her head, in which the pup looked up. "And no intrusion on my part, being a maid often has people coming in and iterupting your work." Tino smiled weakly. As many would say, she was a woman of little words, and rarely wandered from the point of what she wanted to say.

I smiled slightly as lady Tino introduced herself to myself and Ariah. I saw some suspicion in her eyes, as they wandered frantically from my facade to Ariah's. I understood, these were dangerous times. Trust must be earnt and not expected...
I thought of Ariah's earlier statement of travelling deeper into the caves to avoid the sunlight. I had not realised that the sun was due so soon, but apparently my mind was elsewhere on the long venture here. I glared into the darkness, my shadowed eyes focusing to reveal more of the caves qualities. I noticed the static-tights clinging to the rocky roof, making small droplets of water fall into the pools below. It was quite attractive in the caves, I had never known that fact before this day.
I watched in silence as Ariah began to stroll into the heart of the caves. I waited until her form disappeared into the shadows before I gestured to Tino that she should follow too. I had no expectations of what it would be like deep in the caves, I was simply curious. My steady feet carried me easily through the rugged terrain, an area so confined that one had to crouch as they walked in order to avoid hitting their head on the low roof. I kept my ebony eyes scanning for any dangers, my hand steady on my sword, as our small trio of explorers continued on...

Ariah listened to them as they eventually followed and continued to walk. Her hands remained at her sides, not worried at all about any enemies. There was enough water her to slow an enemy down long enough to draw a weapon, and even if there hadn’t been she still wouldn’t have bothered. She had only been down a certain length of these caves, having dozed off last time she had been here.
She paused momentarily when she saw the way ahead narrow slightly, allowing for only one person to pass at a time. Then she simply shrugged, glanced back at the two as they appeared, smiled, and stepped through, ducking her head so as not to hit the roof. The path was about maybe 20 yards long, branching off into three directions at the end. Fortunately, there was a small cavern that would allow a few people in one place before they chose one route. It was here that she waited for the others.
The warrior remained silent as Lestat and Tino approached, but her eyes asked the question for her. Which way? From the left there was a slight breeze, the center path smelled, and felt, damp and musky. The right path had no distinctiveness and was like the rest of what they had just passed through. She blinked calmly, waiting.

Upon exiting the small pathway that opened up slightly to reveal three seperate paths, Tino and I met up with Ariah to discuss the route of choice. I glanced at them, using my senses to clue into their differences. Each was dinstinctly unique, the first led outside, the center seemed to lead right to the heart of the mountain that held the caves...and the final one to our right seemed to just continue. I returned my gaze to the other vampires, and thought breifly before stating:
"Well, we have met a fork in the road. Now, our journey can be determined entirely by us. I know that you both would sense the difference in each path...so, which will it be? I'm not fussed personally, though I would enjoy a challenge..."
I glanced up at their expressions, my shadowed eyes hopeful. I wanted to venture to the heart of the mountain, and explore the mystery that called me here. It was highly possible that there would just be more empty caves at the end, but there was only one way to find out...

Tino, who had been extremely quiet since they had left the entrance, looked quite thoughtful. She too understood about where each one led. Silently, she walked over to the third one, and took a long look inside, wondering just where it went. Unfortunately, she couldn't see overly far, not only was her eyes going weak on her again, but also, no more then a yard ahead of her the tunnel took a turn and faded off. "Um... I'd suggest..." She paused, turning back to the others, keeping a sharp eye on them both. She poked her chin in thought, thinking of possible scenarios for each one. "I'd say the second one." She looked at the others, waiting for their opinions and wondering if they'd approve of her idea.

Lestat’s longing glance towards the middle path did not go unnoticed by Ariah. So she simply watched Tino and waited patiently for what she would say. Personally she wanted a bit of excitement as well, for it very well could be her last for a while or forever. A small smile appeared as Tino thought about it, and then offered to go down the second path. Good. They were all in accordance. Her eyes seemed to shine at the thought of adventure and so, with a slight nod and no words she started down the middle path, the one to the heart of the mountain and to things untold. Perhaps it would be several caves and only that, but it could be something more.
There was more room down this path so she hung back, closer to the other two because the room allowed it. The reason was not because she was anxious or worried; she just didn’t want to get too far ahead, since she had a tendency to walk fast. Water dripped in a few places from time to time, falling into small pools of water. Plink, plop, plink, plop, that was the music the caves played for its guests, who continued to walk on, deeper and deeper.

Satisfaction washed over me as Tino suggested that we should continue into the center of the mountain. Instantly, and without words, Ariah began to stroll down that stoney corridor. I glanced at Tino with a smile in my shadowed eyes, and followed eagerly, Tino following at just one pace behind. I took in the features of the cave, the shadows that danced upon the rocky walls, the water that dripped from the roof...the musky aroma.
We had not gotten far into that path before encountering our first obstacle - a blocked path. The cave walls had gotten much narrower upon journeying into this trail, and just ahead of us lay a rather large boulder that almost completely filled the corridor. That foul odour was getting stronger, I sensed that it was coming from something behind that boulder, and if we moved it we would be overwhelmed with the smell. We had all stopped our pace, my own puzzled expression was painted on the faces of both vampiress's. I smiled slightly, enjoying the fact that we had been presented with a problem...
"Any suggestions on how to rid of this boulder, ladies?"

Tino smiled slightly as they started down the second path, she was glad they were all in agreement. She too had noticed that smell, and Tino had a bad feeling. Tatsh barked lowly, in a defensive way as though trying to protect SwanHeart. DreamScanner himself was in a rather awkward situation, as he wanted to glide, but there wasn't enough room for his rather large wingspan. At Lestat's question, Tino stopped and wondered coolly. It could be dangerous to move it quickly, not that they most likely could. Her eyes wandered to her two four legged friends. She gazed at them in a deep thought for quite a while, before finally speaking up. "Uh... Well, Tatsh said-I mean-Um..." She stopped, she had read Tatsh's mind, but no one would believe her, most likely. She bit her fingernail nervously, hoping they would just ignore what she said, as most people generally ignored her anyway.

Ariah stared at the boulder for a few seconds until Lestat spoke. Then she leaned against the boulder barely pushing and seeming to try to sense something else. Naturally she was just testing something and wasn’t trying to move the boulder at all; there was something about that smell that was rather familiar… and disgusting. If she had been human she probably would have vomited.
Tino spoke then and Ariah turned her attention to her. Speaking for the second time since the start of the journey she asked curiously, “What did Tatsh say? Animals often know more than humans and sometimes even vampires, so I’d really like to know.” When Tino wasn’t looking she winked at Lestat, not because she didn’t believe the other girl, but because the other girl was so nervous and shy. Ariah was simply trying to get her to open up. After all, controlling the weather and things belonging to it, like the wind and water, was no easy-to-believe thing either.
((Agh, it's short. Sorry ><))

I tried with much difficulty to contain the smile that tried to break free upon my thin lips. I saw the wink that Ariah had directed at me, and I understood the meaning behind it. The new maiden was very small of words, I appreciated Ariah's effort to get to know her some more...and the warrior was correct, animals often knew more off of their instincts than humans or vampires did...and I was intrigued to know what the small creature had said to Tino.
Suddenly, I heard a sound behind the obstacle in our path. I couldn't quite make it out though, the caves muffled noise too much for it to reach my ears clearly. I doubted whether the two vampiress's would have heard it, as my powers were my extreme fighting skills and heightened senses...which were almost animal like. With curiosity as well as caution in my dark eyes, I looked to the two allies and spoke of the mysterious sound...
"I don't mean for this to sound rude, but I just heard something behind that boulder that I doubt your ears could have picked. It was quiet in my ears, and as you know...my senses are my power...I believe there's something in there, would you like to find out what it is?"

Ariah ignored his comment, she had heard it as well and it was indeed very faint. Of course, she didn’t doubt his senses were still better than hers. She cleared her throat and concentrated on the water in the other room. Water rained down from one end to the other in the blocked room, but it was only enough to get the floor wet. When there was a break in the pattern, if one was skilled enough, you could tell what was there according to the sound it made. Some things Ariah wasn’t certain of, like the beast that stood on the other side of the boulder, probably listening to them too.
A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips and her eyes gleamed in the dark giving her the look of a predator, “Sure, let’s find out.” She stepped back then, and added, “It’s directly on the other side of the boulder, by the way.” Finally, the vampiress took her eyes away from the boulder and looked at Tino, then rested on Lestat. Obviously she was waiting for what would happen next.

I studied the boulder with much consideration for some time. Curiosity overrun my logic and caused my mind to think of nothing but getting past the large obstacle. I thought, that possibly with the strength of three vampires we could shift or destroy the boulder...but how? I looked down at the weapon I carried on my side, a broad sword...which I knew would not be very effective in crumbling the large rock. I queried to the vampiress's, wondering if any ideas came to their minds.
"I am determined to pass this big rock, does anybody have any ideas on how we can destroy it? My weapon shalln't do much damage, I think that possibly it would easier to move it...any suggestions?"
