Ariah stared out over the plains, her face emotionless and her eyes blank. The moon was rising slowly, and her gaze was actually fixed on it more so than the plains. There was a slight wind that hummed through the air and whistled when it moved in more quick and sharper movements. The wind also caused some of the dirt to scoot over the ground only to settle down in a different spot. The vampiress, however, did not move. Her eyes did, following the moon, and her hair shifted when the wind blew, but that was all.
What was it about the moon that made one feel so peaceful, so at ease? The night was new, and the moon was newer, at least to the actual night that was in current progress. It was a soothing night, despite the bareness of the plains and actually of Vectra in general.
Ariah wasn’t hungry, fortunately. She had eaten not too long ago after her little incident at the human village. She wasn’t proud of it, but at least she was alive to tell the tale. Her fear had surprised her, she thought she was past that, but it seemed that dying the way her sire had was not something she wanted. Death would come eventually, be it tomorrow or several millennia away, it would come and she wanted to face it fighting, not on the ground weak from hunger. No, to her that was one of the most shameful ways to die.

In the moons heavy gaze as it rose for this night, he stood silently behind her. Staring, just staring. she made very little movement but what did his eyes focused on. How he appeared without a sound is a good question. No grass blade had rustled and no rock rattled. His hair and long draping sleeves did not seem to make noise. It was hard to understand what his feature shown. His expression was neither blank nor slightly altered, perhaps he looked confused or curious. His eyes softly closed but when they opened it was down at his feet where a young cat sat, also staring, she must have got it off him. He silently spoke to her with eye movement and lip twitches. All in a sudden she meew very delicately and gave his position away. He may have the ability to be silent but his fur friend lacked the power.
Yashmaru didn't make any sudden movements, merely glanced up at her, one could see maybe a slight smile or his muscles were taunt. Of course at first look at each other, neither knows what side who is on but they both know they are vampires. The asian drew his arms together into each others sleeve. His kitten cat meew cutely again and went to move forward, but Yasha step a foot infront of her. He himself was alright with her, he would never take the blood from her. But he had no trust in any other vampire, even if they looked innocent, none ever was. Without words and took a deep breath and continued to stare. he left the speaking to be started by her, of course if she was like him it will be a quiet night for the both of them.

Even when the cat mewed she didn’t turn. She had known he was there before that because of one small thing. She hadn’t heard him, he was good about that. But she had smelled him. He hadn’t attacked so she wasn’t really worried about that. She turned a few moments later though and did as he did, she stared. When he stopped the cat from moving she looked down at it and smiled lightly. Her smile wasn’t one that looked at potential food. It was more of a smile that said something was sweet, whether it was true or not. Her gaze returned to the man then and her red eyes met his dark ones. The colors contrasted but complimented the other quite well.
Silence followed, but Ariah wasn’t in any hurry. An amused smiled slowly graced her lips and her eyes twinkled. She wasn’t in a hurry, but she figured she might as well say hello by stating something obvious. “Moon’s bright.” It was bright. The whole area was lit up quite nicely that even a human could see where they were walking and they could write or read by it too. Of course, Ariah could change that with a simple thought but she didn’t want to. She really had been playing with the weather way too much of late.

Ahh something he couldnt hide, smell. and even gut feeling, so many fools went by the first scent of sound or sight, forgetting that both of those could be concealed. Hide curled between his legs, under the robes but you could still see each neon bright white paws. Every step she took was stopped to clean those bright whites. Yashamaru's chest gave movement that he might have been going to laugh, but nothing came out. His skin glowed but not a white as most people or vampires even, it had a golden tinge. it would appear he was friendly or shy but he was neither, he barely made friends with anyone with the exeption of his cat. Finally Hide came out intime to see her smile, the cat was easily gullible, because it knew the asian he had no fear of anything abnormal, and most animals could tell the difference with a human and a vampire.
It went to step again but a soft hoarse voice made it stop. it was unsure what he said, it was in the common language just he wasnt use to speaking so nothing was ever clear. He came back to him and sat, cleaning. Yashamaru removed his eyes from the other, again she was lovely, being asian he was attracted to the exotic caucasians. He voice was clear and strong, something he could never get, dark eyes slowly rolled to the moons vast landscape. It reflected in his eyes for a moment he didnt reply. Merely tried to understand her facination with the "night sun". Lips parted carefully, picking his words so they werent in his own tongue and so they could be understood. "Yes... bright." his voice was much louded than before but still whispery and raspy. His long nails ground into his own wrists, like the cat would grip its prey, trying to get the right words to form.
He allowed his head to fall backwards, making his neck open, flaunting the masculine throat. His tongue rolled over his teeth when finally the words came "Asian... I am... you?" It might not have been clear or understandable but he was giving her his name, or so what everyone called him when they didnt want to know it. "This... Hide" again his words were not easy to understand, without head movement you wouldnt know he was refering to the cats name. But sure as the sun would rise, the kitten cat meewed and leant up on his leg, hoping for a stroke. Rolling his head back to face the other vampress, his hair almost fell as long as hers but it was thin and always seemed to fall perfectly every time. The asian leant down to Hide and picked her up, cradling her very gently. perhaps now he gave the impression of being weak, he was ribby, sleek but he was agile and very flexible. Infact he did look weak entirely in form, a greyhound in the shephards world. Long lashed eyes gave him the appearance of being female. "Why you come?" the vampire was not usually one to talk or hold conversation, he was more than happy to not socialise but right now he looked out of place.

Ariah studied him and when he spoke realized he wasn’t used to talking in the common language, if he was used to talking at all. When he did talk she understood the words but it took a few seconds for her to realize he was giving her his name. She realized it when he called the cat Hide. She nodded once and said, “She’s pretty. I am Ariah.” His voice was a bit raspy but she had a feeling that if he used it more often it would sound rather pleasing to the ears. Her voice flowed like water, or rain, as usual. She had basically been born during a powerful storm that had been summoned, and her voice held some of that power and she could tap into it if necessary. For now she was going to be friendly so it was like water woven into silk.
“Why am I here? Good question. I suppose you could call it sight seeing. What about you? Are you just wandering around too?” Ariah wasn’t sure why she was so curious about him but she was. It could have been the fact that he was simply different than most others she had met and she wanted to know more about him. It didn’t help that he wasn’t very talkative though.
((sorry it's rather short))

Long fingers raked the body of the purring cat, with each stroke Hide arched into the hand. The vampire suddenly leant into the young cats neck and what look like he make drink from it, he instead kissed it, gave her one final stroke and put her on the ground. Hide ran away to find a bug of somesort, being young and not fully grown she was still quite playful and silly to watch, perhaps she was his sanity. Her words fell delicately to his ears, soothing his restless body, as indeed he rarely rested and it showed clearly to anyone who dared to stare too closely into his eyes. Yasha tilted his head down, it looked as if he was glaring but the small smile blew that feeling away almost instantly. "Yes... she is" again it was raspy and whispered, almost as if he was going to cough after each syllyble. He was not being rude with what he said, his speech was often blunt withon him realising.
The asian wasnt expecting her to have a point, not many did. Curling the corner of his lips in thought, much like a child would, he really didnt know why he was here. He needed to find her but was that the reason he was drawn into this place? He took a breath, as if to explain in full detail "Nothing... searching... for her. For point." it took all his effort to say so few words but it was obvious he was going to say nothing more on the subject, at least in that breath. Quite a shock he actually took a step closer to her, curious as the cat that play beside him. Sadly she decided a scorpian was a fine friend to toy with. It made it way towards Ariah with Hide, creeping behind it, backend wiggling ready to pounce.

Ariah nodded a couple of times, knowing that he was simply searching for someone. What the relationship was and why he wanted to find her was uncertain but that was alright. She wasn’t going to push him on the subject. Her attention turned to the kitten then, watching as she started to go after a scorpion about the time The Asian took a step closer to her. Ariah didn’t move and shook her head about the kitten and kneeled, reached over and picked the scorpion up by the tail so it couldn’t sting her. Then, still holding the tail, she let its body rest on the palm of her other hand. Looking towards Hide she said, “You would probably have more luck with a beetle or a cricket if there were any around here.” She waited for Hide to wander off a ways before she put the scorpion down. Finally she stood once more and turned back to The Asian.
She wasn’t quite sure what to say so she asked, “Do you have any questions?” She paused and looked down when she felt the scorpion crawl onto her bare foot. She stared at it for a little bit and then just shrugged, figuring it would wander off eventually. As she watched The Asian she could almost feel the moon rising higher in the sky, slowly, slowly, marking the time.

Hide crouched down and wiggled her bum ready for the speedy pounce, when she stuck her fingers onto its tail, Hide ran for it. When reaching her hand all the kitty cat did was swipe clawless at her hand and meewed, sounding half purred at the end. Yasha although not completely trusting the vampress, did not call Hide back. Just watched the future unfold. When she finished speaking Hide ran back over to another spot where she heard some movement, this time a fair play, a mouse. The lanky man watched with glazed eyes, the scoprian get released and crawl to her leg. He was always was told scorpians were dangerous, here this girl let it run across her freely, he found it quite interesting and purely exotic. He shifted his stance and tilted his head to the side, baffled.
Her comment confused him... questions? He had questions but his speech wasnt entirely good and most of the words he still did know. "Questions?... I have... the girl... fire... earth... wind... she..." he seemed to have been describing the girl he was looking for, but did not know the colours in their language, so did the things that looks like the colours. Yashamaru didnt think Ariah would know the woman anyway. He gave up trying and crouch down onto the ground, Hide instantly stopping and running over to him. "How... long are you?" he was curious to know how old she actually was, he wondered if he was the oldest, he knew alot died so he wouldnt be surprised.

The scorpion did crawl away and scurried off into the night. When he started to ask about the girl he must have been looking for she tried to understand him. Elements didn’t make sense, because no one could control that many, so it must have been colors. However, when he gave up she didn’t push him. It really wasn’t good to press for information, especially when the person was a powerful vampire. She watched as Hide ran over and then he asked her a question she did understand.
A small smile appeared from her and she responded, “Not that old, I can assure you. I’ve only seen 260 years.” She was really young by vampire standards, but then again so was her lord; he was only a few years older than she. Normally she wouldn’t ask his age, but he had her curious, “How old are you?”
She turned her gaze to the left when a flash of silver caught her eye and she blinked to see a silver wolf running towards her… actually at The Asian. She frowned and said, “Aranel, no.” The wolf stopped running then and trotted to Ariah’s side and sat down, looking a little disgruntled because she had been told to stop. Looking back at The Asian she patted the wolf’s head and said, “Aranel.”

The plains stiffened breeze caught the leaves and dust about them, making the land faded and dreamlike. Black tresses of hair fringed his face, it was thin and glossy like most asians but some of the tips were dark brown, suggesting his outcross. Hide sat on her chest and sometimes played with the hair, giving it a few swipes and chewing at the ends. At the mention of her age, it took him sometime to sink in, being really only fluent in Japanese. When he did though, he dipped his head down, now they were at better eye level. "Seevin centuries... lost sense of time" he managed to pry from his vocal cords, still they were etched and quiet, being 700 years and barely usuing them has cause quite a few problems, not personally to him but in general socialable actions.
It did not take long for his eyes to catch the streak of silver lined wolf, in almost the instant it appeared, Hide fuzzed and Yashamaru stood. Fingers still just stroking the cat, but for the first time his lips curled and one could see the vampire fangs proudly. At thetime he was not aware it was her pet, but all he merely did was glare at it, after all if it wasnt called off, it would have been its own fatal mistake, dogs like all animals were easy to kill when in a frenzy or agressive state and you had plenty of time. At the sudden cryof Ariah voice Hide leapt out of her friends arms and ran in the other direction finding whatever she could to ... hide behind. Dark eyes watched as the wolf responded to its name and came at its mistress' side. He eyes the large creature carefully, nothing like his pint sized cat which was barely 7 months old, still half the size she could be but she would never come close to half of the wolf.
Yasha hid his teeth again, his eyes glazed once again, as if soul did not live within him, but that was not true. He had it, just didnt show it like most others. "Nice" it was very little to be said, he was not a canine person, he hated their dependant nature when handled by man and cowardly antics when faced with danger because they were too c.ocky in the first place, but he must admit dogs were lovely animals to be around. The asian looked around for Hide but he saw the kitten cat already leaving, probably to find food, Hide always looked back and took a few steps, just to make sure the wolf wasnt going to follow. "Your sire? Alive?" it was not usually his nature to enquire about another persons business either, for some reason he wanted to know, curiousity... his cat often had.

Ariah blinked at what he said. Yes, she had suspected that he was quite a bit older than her. But seven hundred years she had not expected. She nodded a couple of times and said, “Yes… I would too.” He had dipped his head slightly so they were more eye level, but she wasn’t sure why. Then again, he did come from a different society so maybe it had something to do with that. It wasn’t that she minded such an action, she just wasn’t used to it. Her eyes lowered to Hide then as she played and smiled ever so softly.
When his gaze turned to Aranel they seemed to brighten in a predator and protector way. She really didn’t blame him even after she called Aranel to her side. If she had a kitten to worry about she wouldn’t want any other animals to go after it either. She already kept other vampires off of Aranel, though she didn’t worry about her with other animals mostly because of the wolf’s training. She could take care of herself. When the glazed look was back in his eyes and his teeth hidden she thought for a moment before looked at the wolf and said, “Go home.” Aranel looked up at her sharply, hurt shone in her eyes. She whimpered softly, begging Ariah not to send her away. Ariah sighed and said, “Fine, but lay down and be quiet.” Aranel looked relieved and laid down beside her, closing her eyes and actually drifting off to sleep.
She looked up when The Asian asked about her sire and then she shook her head, “No, he died fifty years ago at a tavern.” There was a hint of bitter sadness when she mentioned the tavern. She did miss him, but it wasn’t a consuming sorrow anymore. She had come to terms with his death and missed him the way you would miss a family member if they died, like hers had. It just upset her that he had died so easily, he hadn’t even been able to put up much of fight and he had never really harmed anyone. Her family’s death hadn’t been his fault; they had just been caught in the middle of a fight that lasted for several nights. In all honesty, he had actually saved her because the fight had lasted for a week or so even after she was turned.
