Character's Name:
Audrina
Age:
331
Race:
Vampire
Title:
Lady of Ventana
Power(s):
Strength - Audrina has a great strength about her, even if one cannot see it at first. Mixed deeply with the grace that comes naturally to her is a might that should be considered before tampering.
Speed - Being small had always ensured Audrina speed, but even the small must learn quickness. Always the blunt of her sister's cruelty, Audrina learned young that in order to survive she must be speedy.
Coven:
Ventana coven
Weapon(s):
Bow and Arrow - A trait that she learned quite young, Audrina used to hunt for sport with her bow and arrows. Now they are a tool she must use in the battle against Lilith.
Rapier - Audrina travels with this, but when she is in the castle she simply hangs it on the wall. She does not see the point of defending herself with such a powerful weapon in her home.
Dagger - A small, golden dagger is always present on Audrina's person. It was a gift from her father, and she has used it many times to destroy that which her sister created.
Appearance:
Audrina's beauty is known throughout the land. Before the kingdom was destroyed, her beauty was known as the light that illuminated the throne. Her skin is a pale buttermilk, delicate and soft. For a time she was covered in many gashes and bruises, whilst boils and blood threatened to spill from her body. That time has passed, but a few faint scars remain. Her skin has mostly returned to its former beauty.
Violet eyes stare at the world with compassion, a rarity among the vampiric race. During her illness they turned to ash and stared blank and gray at the night, but with the touch of the butterfuly they jumped back to life and shone brilliant once more. Long dark hair flows down her shoulders, curling slightly. Were it not for care, Audrina's hair would fly all over and over take its head. Her lips are like soft rubies, shining in the pale moonlight, but the words that flow through them are like diamonds: solid and absolute.
Though she is not tall, she is tall enough to dominate over the vampires she rules. Slight of body but strong of mind, her father had always said. She clings to this even in his death, and remains a shadow of the former beauty of the land.
Personality:
Passion and kindness are qualities not to be confused with weakness and laziness. Audrina has a fiery soul, a vigor for life and all things living. When she loves she loves deeply and with all her heart, and refuses to let go until she is ready. Likewise she hates deeply, and won't forget wrong doings, bearing a grudge until the person she hates is dead, or forgiven. Such forgiveness is hard to earn, but to earn Audrina's hate is even more difficult. the love and kindness she feels for people is not easily clouded, but if you cross that line you may or may not go back.
Past History:
She was the second child, the child that bore their mother to the grave. Perhaps that was why Lilith hated her so much. Audrina had taken away the attention that their mother had given, and turned their father's eye to the sickly baby. As she grew her sister showed little or no affection, though the love shown at times seemed genuine to Audrina. However, as every day passed Audrina grew that much more beautiful, and that much more attnetion was drawn away from the cold beauty of her older sister. It wasn't that Audrina hated her sister, in fact, until Lestat was given away as her groom, Audrina quite looked up to her sister and admired her. Small betrayals hurt, and though it all she loved Lilith. Being unkind never won anyone over, and so Audrina learned patience and kindness and gentleness, and people loved and admired her for it, though she did not know it. For Audrina, who was accused by her sister of taking attention away from her father, the subjects, and Lestat, Lilith was the one who had the power, the fortune, the class. She was feared by all and yet loved by all, and Audrina could only dream of wielding the same kind of power her sister did.
It was after Logan had turned his daughetrs into the nightmare that he had become that things truly changed. Audrina could finally see clearly the horrible things that her sister was doing to her, but a silent tongue was all she could give, the rage slowly building inside. When Lestat, the man she had fallen in love with despite all of the horrible things she had come to know, was betrothed to lilith, the anger and hate inside of Audrina burst.
It was this malice and internal torture that exposed itself as the flesh-eating disease that her father was forced to witness. It killed her slowly, from the outside finally as it had on the inside for years and years. Time had not washed away the pain that her sister had caused, and love could not mend it. The butterfly took away the outer symptoms but left the internal scars, and Lilith's final burst of hatred did not aid in matters. Now Audrina is bitter, though the love and comfort of Lestat heals her wounds day by day. The war she is waging eases the pain, but it does not soothe. When the butterfly is returned and all made right again, maybe then will Audrina find her peace.
Interests:
Before her illness, Audrina was very interested in botany and the uses of plants. She had discovered a very powerful poison just before she grew too ill to move, and since her healing cannot remember the plant used. Reading is a pasttime, not so much a hobby, but when she feels the need she writes in her diary, to chronical her journey.
Pets:
None.

It had taken over 100 years for my freedom to become a reality. When Callista realized what I had been planning, she threw me in the dungeons and held me there, barely keeping me alive. For the first 13 years I was strung up in chains, held aloft by my wrists and left to dangle like a worm on a hook. When this did not make me talk, she took me down and forced me to watch the sun rise, but took me out of the burning light before it was too late for me. When I had healed from those burns she did it again, and again, for nearly 8 years. When this wasn't enough I was locked in a deep, dark hole for countless years, but enough time passed that her rage subsided and she brought me back out of the hole. I was allowed to eat but once a year, which kept me alive but always on the fringe of death. Forever, in the back of my mind, my last day as a free vampire played through my head. Lestat and I had stayed indoors, it was raining, and we just lie there in each other's arms, completely lost in our love.
It wasn't until Callista was killed that my release was brought before the new coven leader. I did not know who it was, but I was aware that Cagalli had taken some part in ensuring I was released. As I was a prisoner of war, it was not important to inform those who I had known that I was gone, they simply knew I had vanished. Since there were many prisoner hearing the cries for freedom were nothing to the Vere. Had they known one of their own was being kept like an animal, no doubt they would have questioned Callista sooner. My release was gradual, as I was nursed back to health by Cagalli, who was now the Vere fledgling. She was one of the few I thought of during my long imprisonment, and it was through her that I recieved word of Lestat. Since it had been 100 years I did not know if he would still love me, nor if he remembered our pledge and our love, but I rushed my recovery just so I could see him before my welcoming back ball.
It did not take a great leap of my mind to know where he was, nor did I need Cagalli to inform me that Lestat was always at the lake. It was there that I went this night, my first real night back from my imprisonment, to see if I might find him. The hopes in my heart were high that he would be there, but just to protect myself I allowed room for him not to be there. As I came up the well troddened path I saw a familiar flash of dark hair, and my heart quickened. Would he even remember me?
As if in a dream, or a dream of events that had already passed, I broke free of the shadows and stepped into the moonlight, hiding the smile on my face as I neared him. There was a great, heavy silence all around, and I took this as my moment to surprise him.
In a voice as soft as a butterfly's whisper I called out, "What brings you to the lake this night?"
