Character's Name:
Aloli Dacamara
Age:
542 although she looks as if she was in her mid twenties
Race:
Vampire
Title:
Lady
Power(s):
1. A very limited form of Precognition where through touch she can sense the possibilities of future decisions. It’s often not solid enough proof for her because it could change so often with every choice a person makes. So she doesn’t usually take much stock in that power.
Coven:
Covenless although if she was forced to pick a side she would side with Audrina and Lestat.
Weapon(s):
Aloli doesn’t care for hand to hand combat weapons therefore her weapon of choice is a bow and a quiver but if she must get into a fight that involves hand to hand combat she wields a pair of long very slightly curved hunting knives that get the job done.
Appearence:
Aloli has straight raven black hair that runs down about four inches past her shoulders that won’t curl even on the most humid of days. She has bangs that cover her entire forehead and almost never wears her hair up. Her eyes are a chocolate brown that reflect a human warmth that still lurks beneath the vampire exterior when she lets her guard down. Although most of her tribe’s women prefer to where kohl to emphasize their eyes she prefers the more natural look and leaves them alone. She stands a little taller than most women at around five feet nine inches but she’s not overly tall and is thin but on the curvy side. She tends to wear dark colors and gloves so that her ability doesn’t cloud her judgment. She wears a silver ankh medallion on a leather cord inside her clothes, her only keepsake from her mortal life.
Personality:
Aloli is fairly opinionated in everything that goes on in her life but she’d never voice them except when someone asked her directly. Other than that she tends to go about life on her merry little way only stopping to help when someone asks it of her. She tends to say little but when she does speak it is with an air of unmistakable confidence and total devotion to her beliefs. Her comments are always quick, concise and to the point unless she believes that skating around the truth would benefit the cause more. To obtain her friendship is difficult, it takes a lot for her to place her trust in someone but once they’ve obtained that trust she is a staunch ally. To her friends she is unflinchingly loyal and would do anything to help them even if that means her death in the process. She tends to be cool and distant towards people she doesn’t like and its quite obvious when she doesn’t care for someone. When she’s dealing with people she doesn’t agree with it usually results in an argument and her becoming just a tiny bit sarcastic. She survives mainly on her common sense and intellect going from town to town trying to find a place that actually needs her.
Past History:
Aloli grew up in a desert tribe as the daughter of the chieftain, they were a relatively peaceful nomadic tribe consisting of hunters, a few warriors and the womenfolk. They would set up camp in a nice spot like an oasis and live off the land until the herds moved and they would follow. Since she was daughter of the chief she was taught she had certain obligations, first and foremost she was to marry well to secure an alliance with a neighboring tribe. Aloli hated the idea of anyone able to control her life other than her and did her best to appear unattractive in hopes of getting the other tribe to withdraw their marriage offer. Unfortunately it didn’t work, and she was forced to marry what she thought was a complete and utter fool.
Little did she know he was vampire, on their wedding night he turned her simply because she hated the very sight of him and it gave him utter pleasure at the thought of making her miserable for all eternity. Aloli was smart enough to learn what she needed from her barbarian husband and when the time was right she bribed her husband’s enemies into killing him. After she played the part of the mournful widow she appointed her brother chieftain of both tribes and fled to Nullius flouting her unconformity to her family’s desires. Since then she’s been in search of a cause that needs her and that she can truly contribute to of her own free will. Right now she lives like she was taught, going from town to town never really finding a permanent place but she hopes one day she could put down permanent roots.
Interests:
Aloli doesn’t have any artistic or musical ability whatsoever but she does have taste. She loves to listen to signers and musicians perform their work and admires them for their craft. Aloli loves to debate politics and reads any written work she can put her hands on. Since she was little she’s always had a fascination with jewel craft and in her off time she’s often seen making different pieces of jewelry to sell or for the local street urchins.
Pets:
A Andalusian stallion named Akil who has been her constant companion for a while now he’s pure black with a long mane and looks entirely to big for her to handle. She also has a hunting falcon named Akhom that is often seen flying high above her and Akil as they travel.
RP sample:
Aloli sat outside the tavern at night working on a necklace and watching the street urchins play with each other before the night got really busy and they started pick pocketing. Frowning in concentration she’d whittle a particularly difficult part of the wooden medallion, she didn’t really have anyone in mind for her little horse figure but it kept her hands busy. Humming softly as she worked she continued on until she felt a little body sit on the bench next to her. A little girl no more than five years old dressed in nothing but rags was brave enough to sit down next to her, a full fledged vampire.
“ Pretty horse.” She said softly as she put her fingers in her mouth, it was probably the most appetizing thing she’d had to eat all day.
“ Thank you. I’ll be done with it in a couple minutes. Would you like to have it?” she asked the little girl. When she nodded Aloli smiled, she liked children. Although most of them ran away from her she truly liked being around them. Smoothing out the last part of the tail she threaded it through a leather cord and placed it gently over the girl’s neck. She picked it up and regarded it thoughtfully. Unfortunately Aloli hadn’t taken the time to smooth out all the edges and the girl nicked her finger on a rough part of the little horses neck. All it took was that little drop of blood and Aloli inhaled deeply. Closing her eyes she prayed for strength, she didn’t want to take this little girl’s life. “ I have to go now, here this should help your family.” She said quickly thrusting some coins in her direction and she hurried off down the alley, trying to put as much distance between her and the child as possible. Akil was right where she left him, tied to a pole in the ground. Stepping nearer to the horse she shook her head mentally cursing herself for her weakness. A child was one of the most innocent and vulnerable creatures in existence and she would never, ever feed off one even if she was desperate. Tonight was to close of a call, time to leave again.
“ We need to put down roots, Akil. But first we need to find a place that really needs us.” She told her horse fondly as she swung up into the saddle. Akhom would be coming back in a day or two. He often left to hunt for a few days at a time and would return when he was full. With a slight squeeze of her legs she and Akil made their way to the city limits to go onto the next town.
Optional Information:
She loves snakes, if she didn’t travel so much she’d love to have one as her pet. Her favorite is any type of asp.
